HAMPTON YACHT CLUB, #97-1950, requests authorization to replace approximately 500 linear feet of fixed piers and associated finger piers with 1,494 linear feet of floating piers, and dredge 2,000 cubic yards of State-owned subaqueous land adjacent to their property situated along the Hampton River in the City of Hampton. The resulting number of slips will increase from 110 existing to 126 proposed. The project is protested by a resident in the vicinity.
5. LAWRENCE G. COHEN, #97-1653, requests authorization to install a private mooring buoy approximately 700 feet channelward of his property near Five Gables Drive at 37E 22' 32" North Latitude, 76E 27' 54" West Longitude on the Ware River in Gloucester County. The project is protested by the adjacent property owners.
6. PETER W. MANSFIELD, #97-1718, requests authorization to construct a 28-foot by 38-foot private, noncommercial boathouse adjacent to his property situated along Urbanna Creek in Middlesex County.
7. VIRGINIA LAND AND FOREST (BLUEGREEN PROPERTIES), #97-1579, requests authorization to construct a 50-foot long by six (6)-foot wide timber, community pier with a 25-foot long by 10-foot wide L-head, adjacent to property situated along Goughers Creek in Northumberland County. The project is protested by adjacent property owners.

DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY, #98-0001, requests authorization to install an interlocking cable concrete mat along 85 linear feet of shoreline involving impacts to approximately 790 square feet of tidal wetlands at their property situated along the Appomattox River in Prince George County. A wetlands permit is required.

2A. TOWN OF PEMBROKE, #97-1750, requests authorization to construct a 12-foot wide concrete public boat ramp which will extend 45 feet channelward of ordinary high water into the New River, with an associated 35-foot long quarry stone jetty upstream of the ramp, adjacent to the Route 623 bridge in Giles County.
2B. GILES COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY, #94-0701, requests reactivation and extension, until January 31, 2000, of a permit to construct a raw water intake consisting of 14-inch ductile iron pipes on concrete piers protected by riprap which will extend 185 linear feet channelward of ordinary high water into the New River near Route 680 in Giles County.
2C. DEPARTMENT OF GAME AND INLAND FISHERIES, #97-0240, requests authorization to modify their previously approved permit to construct a water intake structure for the Department's Brookneal fish hatchery located along the Roanoke River in the Town of Brookneal. Specifically, the modification requests the relocation of the proposed pump station, the addition of two one-inch air burst lines, the installation of 750 square feet of riprap scour protection for the submerged lines and 50 linear feet of riprap along the bank, and a redesign of the proposed intake structure including a reduction in the diameter of the pipe from 24-inch to 16-inch ductile iron pipe. Recommend approval of the modification with our standard in stream construction conditions.
2D. LYNCHBURG DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, #97-1572, requests authorization to remove four (4) existing aerial sewerline crossings and install three (3) submerged sewerline crossings under a total of 62 linear feet of Ivy Creek, and to place a total of approximately 350 linear feet of riprap along the creek banks at the crossing sites near Dandridge Drive in the City of Lynchburg. Recommend approval with our standard in stream construction conditions.
2E. MOBIL OIL CORPORATION, #97-0440, requests modification of their previously issued permit modification to authorize the maintenance dredging of an additional 1,200 cubic yards of State-owned subaqueous bottom to restore maximum depths of -40 feet at mean low water at their docking facilities adjacent to their property situated on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River in the City of Chesapeake.
2F. U.S. COAST GUARD, #97-1030, requests authorization to replace an existing boat ramp with a 900 square foot precast concrete plank boat ramp adjacent to Milford Haven Coast Guard Station situated in Mathews County.

2G. WILHELMINA BOSSE, #94-0199, requests a modification to a previously issued permit to include the construction of 435 linear feet of bulkhead with associated backfill in lieu of 435 feet of riprap revetment authorized at her property situated along Nomini Creek in Westmoreland County.
2H. VIRGINIA INSTITUTE OF MARINE SCIENCE, #97-1809, requests authorization to construct 118 linear feet of timber pile/plastic sheetpile jetty and maintenance dredge approximately 3,000 cubic yards of subaqueous material to restore maximum depths of minus six (-6) feet at mean low water within an existing mooring basin situated along Finney Creek/Wachapreague Channel in Accomac County.
2I. FISHERIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION, #97-1807-14, requests authorization to construct, within a 1,000 foot radius around Newport News Middle Ground Light, a circular artificial reef with a five-foot maximum profile to enhance recreational fishing, as well as establish a 103-acre hard clam broodstock sanctuary.
2J. FISHERIES MANAGEMENT, #94-0520-13, requests modification to their previously issued permit to include authorization to scuttle a 110-foot long by 34-foot wide steel deck barge on the Northern Neck Reef, seven (7) nautical miles east of the Great Wicomico Light in the Chesapeake Bay.
2K. CLINCHFIELD COAL COMPANY, #96-0891-10, requests authorization to relocate approximately 1,900 linear feet of Lick Creek and construct immediately downstream a 50-foot long by 30-foot wide bridge to facilitate operation of the proposed Sun Deep Mine located approximately 1.1 miles north of the intersection of State Routes 63 and 615 in the Sun (Midway) Community in Russell County. Recommend a royalty in the amount of $450.00 for the encroachment over 1500 square feet of State-owned subaqueous land at a rate of $0.30 per square foot and the following special permit conditions: (1) the stream shall be diverted into the new channel during low flow conditions (August - October) and after all proposed work, including side slope stabilization, is completed; (2) all instream work in Lick Creek be performed after the new channel is constructed; (3) strict implementation of erosion and sediment control measures be maintained for the duration of the project to protect documented endangered and threatened aquatic species located downstream and (4) all interests of the Commonwealth over the original streambed shall be transferred to the new streambed upon completion of the project.
2L. GOVERNOR'S LAND MANAGEMENT COMPANY, #97-2054, requests authorization to extend an existing jetty 250 linear feet in order to reduce wave action within the boat basin at the Governor's Land Marina situated along the James River in James City County.
