The Virginia Marine Resources Commission invites public comment on the establishment of amendments to regulations, as proposed below.

In accordance with Section 28.2-209 of the Code of Virginia, a public hearing on the proposed regulation will be held at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, 2600 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia. I. Chapter 4VAC20-490-10 et seq., �Pertaining to Sharks�
The Commission will consider proposals to increase Virginia�s commercial spiny dogfish seasonal quota from 4,408,894 pounds (2013-2014 season) to 5,329,491 pounds (2014-2015 season).
The purpose of this amendment is to comply with the Interstate Fishery Management Plan requirements for this species.
II. Chapter 4VAC20-910-10 et seq., �Pertaining to Scup (Porgy)�
The Commission will consider proposals to establish the Summer Period commercial quota, as 14,105 pounds for scup.
