| Accomac Aquafarms Jeff Hammer Site Description: The growout location is on lease 17656 in Folley Creek. The creek is well protected by land from wind exposures in all directions. Deployment Method: Oysters will be grown in 2' X 8' Taylor floats. Floats will be attached to large poles and are end to end along the creek bank. Each float will hold approximately 1,000 oysters at final growout densities and floats will be spaced approximately 3' apart. Emergency Management Plan: Extra poles will be added to the lines for added security. Oysters have been grown at these sites for many years with little impact from storm events. Prior to storm events all lines and clips will be checked. For hurricane events, anchors will be attached to the lines and placed in the marsh for added security. Ice has little or no impact on the floats. Jeff Hammer has grown oysters at this site for many years and will be responsible for any training and implementation of the Emergency Management Plan.
