BOB GRABB
VIRGINIA MARINE RESOURCES COMMISSION He is responsible for the managing the state’s marine conservation programs, state-owned water bottoms, tidal wetlands and coastal primary sand dunes. His department handles constituent requests to use state-owned water bottoms for piers, docks or marinas, as well as oyster ground leasing, channel dredging or development of tidal wetlands or coastal primary sand dunes. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree in Biological oceanography from Old Dominion University. Bob served four years in the Coast Guard active-duty, and 23 years in the Coast Guard Reserves, with many overseas assignments. He retired from the reserves in 2006 as a Captain. Bob’s hobbies include riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and sailing.
