Public Notice: Pertaining to a proposal to increase the elver harvest quota

NOTICE

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission invites public comment on a proposal to increase the elver harvest quota, held by Anguilla Culture Technology, Inc. under special permit, from 1300 pounds to 2000 pounds. Mr. Willy Bokelaar, President of Anguilla Culture Technology, Inc. is seeking an increase of 700 pounds of elvers in the harvest allowed from Virginia waters under his special permit issued by the Commission.

In accordance with Section 28.2-209 of the Code of Virginia, a public hearing on the above proposal will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, 2600 Washington Avenue, Newport News. Written comments on the proposal should be mailed to: Jack Travelstead, VMRC Fisheries Management Division, P. O. Box 756, Newport News, VA 23607. A copy of Mr. Bokelaar's permit may be reviewed at the Commission, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
