Publice Notice: Pertaining to Blue Crab Sanctuaries

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission invites public comment on an emergency amendment to Regulation 4 VAC 20-752-10 Et Seq., "Pertaining to Blue Crab Sanctuaries." The emergency amendment was adopted by the Commission on June 24, 2002, under the authority of §28.2-210 of the Code of Virginia.

In accordance with §28.2-209 of the Code of Virginia, a public hearing on the adoption of the proposed emergency amendments as part of the final regulation will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the Marine Resources Commission, 2600 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia. Written comments on the proposals should be mailed to: Jack Travelstead, VMRC Fisheries Management Division, 2600 Washington Avenue, 3rd Floor, Newport News, Virginia 23607. A copy of the proposed amendments may be reviewed at the Commission during Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Persons interested in obtaining a copy of the proposed regulations may call the Commission offices at (757) 247-2248.

PROPOSE AMENDMENT

Regulation 4 VAC 20-752-10 et seq., "Pertaining to Blue Crab Sanctuaries."

The Commission adopted an emergency amendment to the regulation, to correct a typographical error, concerning a single longitudinal coordinate associated with the boundary lines of the Virginia Blue Crab Sanctuary. This amendment establishes a point, southeast of Tangier Island, as, 37° 43' 41.05" N, 75° 57'51.84" W and replaces the incorrect boundary coordinates (37°43' 41.05" N, 76° 57'51.84" W).
