Background:

The Messick Point Landing facility improvements were completed in 2005. The project received $413,970 in grant funds from the VSRFDF. The facility has 2 double boat ramps and 50 vehicle/trailer parking spaces. Also added were two handicapped vehicle/trailer parking spaces, as well as a handicapped accessible pier. Security lighting was also added. Recent dredging provides a depth of approximately 6 feet at mean low water. The facility has no fee and is open 24 hours. The Messick Point facility offers quick access to Back River and the lower Chesapeake Bay.

Directions:

The Facility is located at the end of Messick Rd.
